Jersey pricing is not random. It clusters around tiers, and each band buys something specific. This guide explains what moves a jersey from one band to the next.
Entry band
Entry-priced jerseys are printed replicas, lighter fabric, and the most relaxed cut. They are the right buy for a first jersey, a gift for a casual fan, or something to wear to a game without worrying about it.
Mid band
The mid band buys stitched details, heavier fabric, and a cut closer to the field. This is where most buyers should look if they want the jersey to feel substantial and last through regular wear.
Top band
Top-band jerseys are built to the on-field spec: stitched everything, the closest cut, and the highest price. You are paying for construction and the closest thing to what players wear, not for extra durability in casual use.
What pushes the price up
Custom names and numbers, current star players, limited editions, and throwback reproductions all carry premiums. Some of these hold value; customisation usually does not.
When a discount is a warning
Clearance on last season's stock is normal. A current-season star jersey at a fraction of its normal band is not. Check the seller, the tags, and the return policy before treating it as a deal.
What we do not do
We do not publish live prices, because they move and we are not an authorised price feed. We tell you the band and the seller, and you confirm the number on the retailer page.
Prices and availability change constantly. Confirm the current price on the retailer page. Paid links on this site may earn us a commission.
